Ruben Berríos Martínez was a Puerto Rican lawyer, political leader, and activist. He was born on June 21, 1939, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and passed away on May 28, 2006. Berríos was a prominent figure in the independence movement in Puerto Rico and served as the President of the Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP) from 1993 to 2003.
Throughout his career, Berríos was known for his staunch advocacy for Puerto Rican independence and his opposition to U.S. colonialism in the territory. He was involved in various protests and movements to promote independence and self-determination for Puerto Rico.
